1. What technologies were used when you were a student? How were they used?
When I was a student we had a computer class once a week. We didn't have very many other types of technology available to us other then computers, calculators, and television every once in a while.
2. How were technology related skills taught to you? What was emphasized?
In our computer class skills were taught mostly through games. From what I could remember the skills that were focused on most were typing. We had games that required you to reach certain levels each week. The classes wanted us to be quick typers that didn't look at our hands. Although I can type relatively quick I still can't type without looking down. We learned very basic skills in our computer class to work programs such as word, excel, and power-point.
3. What skills and knowledge do you already possess to help you effectively integrate technology into instruction?
I think my knowledge of technology is very basic. I can use word and power-point. I wouldn't call myself particularly proficient in it. But I can get along okay.
4. What skills and knowledge do you hope to learn in this class?
I would like to become better at using some of the more basic programs and smart boards. I would also be interested in learning about how technology can be better integrated into the classroom. And interesting app and technology that would make the learning experience better for my students.
